Our missions

The regional incubator plays a role in all stages prior to creating young innovative enterprises in connection with public research. It is supported by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and aims at funding, supporting and supervising the projects linked with research from the public sector laboratories to all kinds of innovative entrepreneurs.

The incubator can assist persons (or 6 months-old companies, at the maximum) ) with an innovative project in any activity sector, such as products, processes or services, that have established a link with public research or emerged from it. Duration of the supervision may not exceed 24 months.

Incubation fosters the realisation of a project and accelerates its development. Supervision is provided in different areas: access to the incubator’s economic networks and local hosting structures, individual monitoring, training, exchanges and funding. The incubator can fund technical, economic or intellectual services for the business creator, up to a maximum of €50,000.

Implementation tool

The selection process for projects to be supervised takes place in several stages:

• Project evaluation meetings
• Preparing supervision for incubation candidates
• Examining the project and its creators by the selection and monitoring committee
• Validation by the Board of Directors of CARINNA

The first meeting with the incubator team enables the project to be assessed and to see whether it meets various eligibility criteria:

• innovation (product, processes, services)
• quality of the project team
• proof of technical feasibility
• potential for economic development
• conceivable support from a public research laboratory
• locating in the Champagne-Ardenne region

The incubator team works with the business creator to identify the laboratory which can meet its specific needs and helps it to prepare its support. The instruction time varies from one to several months, according to the maturity of the projects. The team monitors and assists the business creator, for the entire duration of incubation.
